Letters to Mary Wollstonecraft

This is a collection of spoken-word-style poetry, that I am developing, using my research practice into ethical interview technique. It focuses on the struggles that people with uteruses face, and the lack of preparation when we're hit with different menstrual "chapters". From our first period, to menopause, to breast lumps and bumps, this collection looks at how the lack of knowledge and understanding stems from ineffective sex education in schools, and recurrently throughout our lives. The collection is an ode to the Mother of Feminism, Philosopher, Mary Wollstonecraft.

Artist Methodology

After launching my research project, into ethical interview practice for the purpose of fiction writing, as part of my Master of Arts Degree, in 2022, I have been finding interest and inspiration in learning about trauma and how to avoid re-traumatising audience members and collaborators when creating fictional script based on real events. This project has become a huge part of my writing practice, and will continue to be a tool I use, and hopefully can help other creatives too, when writing about very real events and stories.

Under London

Born out of a practice of play and exploration, this original, co-written, 5 hander, one-act-play has become an ongoing project for both myself and my collaborator, Freda Lawson-King. Based on real events, featuring fictional characters representative of London's working class society, it is currently under development and served as the catalyst for my artistic research methodology.
