About Me
After joining ballet at the age of six, as part of the South Wests' "Dance Arts Theatre School", with Andrea White, former professional dancer and Laine Theatre Arts Alum, as a form of physiotherapy, I soon found a passion for musical theatre, and acting. With Dance Arts, I took part in the All England Dance Festival competitions, in the South West. From the age of 13, I gained a place in one of the South West's leading amateur Musical Theatre Companies', the Noda-Award-winning group, Centre Stage Exmouth, where I stayed until I was 18. Following this, I went on to do Stage Management, Acting, Sociology and English Language, at College. Later I began my training in Theatre Performance and Production Management, at the University of Chichester, where I learnt all things from Performing, to Directing, to Production Management, Writing, and Devising. During my training here, I was a production assistant for Bootworks Theatre Company, at the "Greenwich International and Docklands Festival" and worked a production placement at The Theatre Royal Bath's "The Egg" Theatre on the Greek Tragedy Antigone. Additional to my time at Chichester, I devised and co-wrote "Under London", with my dear friend and fellow creative, Freda Lawson-King.
In 2020 I was offered a place at Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, to carry out an MA degree, in "Collaborative Theatre Making". I found myself in a multi-disciplinary, international devising cohort, surrounded by unique and diverse individual talents. Here I trained under the dramaturg and director, Yael Shavit. As my independent research practice, on my MA degree, I launched an investigative research methodology into ethical interview practice, for the purpose of fiction writing, and have been developing a collection of poetry about access to appropriate sex education.
Since my MA degree, I have worked as a Deputy Stage Manager on a couple of shows, most favorably a three-part retelling of the Oresteia: Zinnie Harris' "This Restless House" put on at Shaftesbury Avenue's hidden gem, "Stone Nest".
